In 2019, RBC Future Launch and Riipen launched a partnership with the goal of increasing access to high-impact work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for Canadian post-secondary students Our shared mission: to help prepare learners, particularly those from underserved communities, for the Future of Work. By the end of 2022, the RBC-Riipen partnership has delivered over 27,000 online WIL experiences, to a wide diversity of learners and educational partners across Canada with the potential of delivering over 250,000 by 2026.

Sustainable Business Strategy & Research Projects
Learners in this capstone course are senior BBA students specializing in Sustainable Business Practices. Over a 10-month period, each learner will individually research and develop a project that addresses a real-world sustainability-related business challenge. Employers can expect learners to: Conduct needs assessments and sustainability audits Analyze organizational challenges using both qualitative and quantitative research Propose strategic, innovative, and actionable solutions that integrate economic, environmental, and/or social sustainability Create detailed project proposals grounded in research and best practices Implement and evaluate sustainability projects through data collection and stakeholder feedback Communicate professionally in written reports and oral presentations By the end of the experience, employers will receive a comprehensive sustainability-focused business report tailored to their organization's needs.

Business and Operational Planning Capstone (September - December 2025)

Students analyze a company’s environment and existing business plan and subsequently develop an evolved and relevant comprehensive business and operational plan for the organization, through the application of theoretical and applied learning gained throughout the program. Fresh new ideas and perspectives Enthusiastic team of students working on your project, advised by experienced faculty Low-cost exploration of new business ideas Explore products or services that are outside of your organization's current business plan Connect with Sheridan College academic community Students will provide approximately 160 hours of work, without financial payment dedicated to solving your problem During the fifteen-week semester, partners should be available for three class visits, lasting two hours each, in addition to 20hrs of assignment reading, review and student offline questions. It is estimated that for every partner hour invested, the return is x20 free student hrs.

My learners are equipped to tackle projects in machine learning and statistical learning, having gained proficiency in Python and R. They have engaged with several hands-on courses covering machine learning, statistical data analysis, SQL and database management, Tableau dashboard creation, data engineering, and big data. I am seeking internship projects that will help them apply their skills as part of their data science master’s program. Please note that learners will register for their internship between May and August 2025. If you wish to start working with them during this period, it would be ideal.

All details and questions are discussed in the document below. Program Overview and Partnership Invitation Document This program has been run for 17 cohorts over 7 years and with 200+ partners. We work with 30+ partners every term. We will not be able to respond to messages on Riipen. Quick summary: students take this course to develop a software application (web, mobile or desktop) for various use cases. Previous examples include mobile apps for finding travelers in a specific community and web-based application for connecting a non-profit to volunteers. If the project information interests you, please go through the steps mentioned in the document. After reviewing 300+ proposals, we have created a thorough process to streamline the process for all involved. We will not be able to accept requests on Riipen as the proposals need to be chosen by the students when the term begins.
